Chapter 25

Olivia was stunned by what he just said to her.  Does he really think that she would go anywhere and wait for him?  With a look of shock, she stands to go, looking at Jon she says, "I'm here at the Hilton, room 2322."
And she turns to leave.  She can hear Jon walking toward her, so she slows her pace - hoping that he would reach for her hoping that he would stop her.  And he does, just long enough to open the door for her and to watch her leave.  "Is this really what you want?" she asks as she's facing him, standing in the doorway.

He nods his head yes and let's out a long sigh, "I need to get ready and I don't have time for this.  I'll find you after the show, and we'll talk."

"Okay." she drops her head, following the feeling of her heart landing in her feet.  Jon closes the door and for a brief second, Olivia was scared.  She was scared that he may have gotten over her, she's scared that he may have found someone else or that maybe he was trying to make his marriage work; either way, she didn't have a good feeling about it.

On her way down to her room, she can feel her heart rate increase, she can feel the smile creep onto her face and she thought that maybe she would try to attend the show.  When she got to her room, she called the box office and there were a few tickets available.  Tickets in the pit and they were pretty expensive.  She decided to pass on the show and just wait for Jon.  She ordered room service and waited for it while she unpacked her suitcase, she only plans on staying for two days, but she needed to make this trip and she needed to see if she and Jon had even the smallest of chance.

She paces the room, watching the sun set and feeling lonely.  She watched many sunsets alone and hated that, but she hopes that maybe she can talk to Jon and she'll never have to watch another one alone.  The night is breezy and it's a perfect night to cuddle with someone in a hammock and just be together.  She knows that her chances are slim that they can get back to where they started, she's hoping that they can build on the beginning and skip passed her selfish phase.  She loves him, she loves him deeply, madly and truly and she just needs to show that to him.  She needs to show him, convince him that she made a selfish mistake

She grabs her laptop and finds a comfortable seat on the patio, wanting to be outside as much as she can.  Miami's weather has a way of helping ease what bothers you and that is exactly what she needs.  She's reading her book, chapter after chapter, finally getting into it - but he thoughts are often turned to Jon.  In her mind, she can picture him up on stage and she loves to watch him put on a show.  She's only seen a few, but he was one hell of a front man and when she watches him, she knows that he's singing to her.

Her gaze, and her attention, are diverted to the water.  She falls into a trance watching the waves hit the show and roll back to sea.  It makes her think that the ocean comes in and washes away the bad, the ugly and the uncertainty.  Her thoughts always go back to the last night that her and Jon were together.  They were in perfect sync and she misses that, she misses him and she misses the relationship that they had - it wasn't ideal, but in all honesty it worked for them.

Surfing the internet makes her sleepy and she feels herself dozing off, and she decided not to fight it.  She falls asleep under the stars, with a cool breeze and hope in heart.

Olivia was woken with a gentle shake, "Liv."  She can hear his voice, she can feel his touch but she doesn't want to open her eyes, this might be a dream and she doesn't want to wake up.  "Liv." he gently shakes her again.

She opens her eyes, smiling at Jon she says, "Hi.  What time is it?"  she rubs her eyes, while yawning.

"It's about 2:00 am."

"How was the show?" she inquires, seeing on his face that he's very tired.  Even when he's tired, she can't find flaw one in his appearance.  She can see that he hasn't showered yet, but his scent is still one that she wishes that she could bottle and keep with her at all times.

Jon moves in next to her on the hammock and puts an arm over her, lightly kissing her cheek,  "What made you come here?"

Olivia turns to look at him, rolling her head between an opening in the hammock, "I miss you."

"You miss me so you flew to Miami?" he asks her, knowing that there was more to her story and he was going to get it out of her.  "You came because you missed me?"

"Yeah, Jon.  I'm here because I miss you and I made a mistake."

"Mistake?"  She sits up the best that she can and puts her feet over the edge of the hammock, leaning over to get up in one swoop motion, Jon holds her back, not letting her get up.  "Talk to me."

Olivia leans back on Jon, resting her head on his stomach, his rock hard stomach that she misses, along with the rest of him and tells him, "Demanding you be with me was a mistake.  I miss you, I miss us." she chuckles, "I miss the fucked up us that we had."

"Why?" he asks, with his casual tone that tells Olivia that he's listening, but he's not getting excited.  "Why do you miss that?"

"Because I do, does it really have to be questioned?" she snaps.  "I need something to drink, can I get you anything?"  She attempts to get up again, this time he lets her.

"No thank you.  I'm good."  He watches her walk off into the hotel room in her boys shorts and shirt.  The shirts that she wears to bed are his, dress shirts that he left at her apartment in Manhattan a couple of the many times that he was there.  She liked that they were long and that they were his.  When she moved from NY to Utah, she made sure that those shirts traveled with her, they didn't go with the movers.

With a bottle of juice and a bathrobe on Olivia returns to the patio to find Jon fast asleep, hands behind his head, legs crossed and the hammock lightly swaying in the wind.  Olivia stands there and watches him sleep, with her heart racing, soaking up the sight of the man that she loves with every ounce of her being.  She's hoping that she can prove to him that she made a mistake, convince him that she's there for them and them only.  Her time is limited and she has a game plan, but for now - she's going to let him sleep.  She grabs a blanket from the room and gently covers him with it.  She's content right now, simply because of the expression on his face.  That smile that's on his face tells her that he's okay with where he's at.
