Chapter 36

Jon Bon Jovi collapses during a sold out show at the Seattle Stadium in front of a reported 67,000 screaming fans. 

 It's not been made clear to us the reason for his sudden collapse, sources at the hospital are telling us that it's exhaustion and others are telling us that Jon is quite sick.  We have made several attempts to reach anyone within the Bon Jovi camp and to this point we have been unsuccessful.  As many of you know, the Bon Jovi camp is typically pretty tight lipped when it comes to things like this, things within the family.

Here at News 9, Seattle, we wonder if maybe his sudden divorce proceedings and the exposure of a mistress were too much for the rock star to handle, on the heels of a very long and grueling tour.  We spoke with a local stage hand and he told News 9 that Jon was taken out through a back door, on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on - unresponsive.  The stage hand also told us that Olivia London, Jon's mistress, was at his side when he was rushed to the hospital.  

Olivia London, the long time Bongiovi family doctor has recently surfaced as Jon Bon Jovi's  girlfriend.  The two of them were spotted together in Miami, in settings that lead everyone to believe that she is more than the family doctor.  

The news flashes to images of Jon and Olivia laying poolside, holding hands.  One shot had them hugging and the last image that they show, they linger on, getting the point across that she is more than the doctor.  The image shows Jon rubbing lotion on Olivia's back, with her bathing suit untied. 

 No one in the camp has confirmed or denied that, but we were told that Dorothea Bongiovi was in town and that she confronted the couple last night.  It was confirmed, through flight manifests that Dorothea Bongiovi was indeed in Seattle last night.  Hotel management confirms that the family stayed in the same hotel. and that Jon and Olivia even had an adjoining room.  The housekeeping staff tells us that the Bongiovi children stayed in the adjoining room.  

All of us here at News 9 hope that it is nothing serious and that Jon is back on the stage rocking to the sell out crowds as he always does.  Stay tuned to News 9 for the latest updates.  

The reporter is a little startled as he hears in his ear piece, "We just got an image of Jon in his hospital room."  The reporter looks at the image on the teleprompter and tells the audience  

Ladies and gentleman, this just in.  A picture of Jon Bon Jovi in his hospital room.  This image shows an exhausted man, a man that looks almost lifeless.  We still aren't sure why the rock star collapsed, and we only have this image through the use of modern technology.  I'm being told that this image was sent to us from a nursing student at the hospital.  But as you look at it, you can see that he is pale and looks beat.  We can only speculate that he is having tests of some kind, seeing that he is in the gown provided by the hospital and not his own clothes.  Again, Jon Bon Jovi collapsed last night in the beginning of a sold out show.  We have yet to learn what happened to the mega rock star but we will bring you new details as they emerge.  

The news cuts to commercial.  Olivia, unable to turn the channel tosses the remote on Jon's bed and says, "Who took that picture?"

Peeking through his tired eyes, he laughs at her and says, "It had to be that girl that was wanting to start the IV.  Don't worry about it."

"Jon!"

"Liv, it's no big deal.  What's done is done." His eyes are still closed and his thoughts leave the fact that his privacy was violated, he's trying to figure out in his head when he's going to make up the show that he ended abruptly.  

"I know, but you're here under emergency care, they should know better than to let someone with no experience in with you, especially if I'm here."

"Not every one knows you're a doctor."

"That's not the point.  Forget it.  Are you feeling better?" she walks to him and kisses the top of his head, "I'm surprised you're up and about."

"I'm pretty tired from the sedative, but I feel okay."

"You scared the hell out of me."

He lightly chuckles, "I scared the hell out of myself.  What a crazy thing to have happen."

"You put too much pressure on your self, babe."  Olivia didn't need to remind him, he knows that his plate is full and that his cup is running over.

"It's what I do."  With his eyes open, he scoots to the end of the chair, "I think I want to sleep."  He starts to stand, a little wobbly, Olivia helps him him take off the starchy hospital and gets him into bed.  Before he pulls the blankets up, "Will you untie this damn thing?"  He refers to the hospital gown that he has on.  "It's practically choking me."  Olivia reaches around him and unties the closures, helping him remove the hospital gown.  With it off, she sees the man that she loves with all of her heart for what he is at this very moment.  

"Honey, can I get you anything?" she asks, as she tucks the covers around him, "Do you want some water or juice?"

He shakes his head no, as he struggles to look at her, "I just want to get...." he falls off to sleep.

For a few minutes Olivia stands there and just watches him sleep.  With every breath he takes, she silently beats her self up more and more, quietly she whispers, "What kind of doctor are you that you didn't even recognize his symptoms.  You should have seen this Liv, you should have fricken seen it."  She goes quite and runs through the night before in her head. 

After his confrontation with Dorothea, they climbed into bed and she immediately crashed.  They were tired from the long flight and weren't ready for what they walked into, although neither were really surprised by it.  

Jon handled Dorothea that best way that he could of, considering the circumstance that she put them all in, but when he woke up to the fact that the kids left without saying goodbye, well, that's when she should have seen it.  The color that she noticed in his face, she chalked up to anger and when they were in route to Seattle, his silence, again, she thought that it was from being tired.
